Card controls

How card freeze and spending limits help

Available controls can reduce exposure when used quickly, but they work best alongside careful account review and official support—not as a replacement for a merchant cancellation or security investigation.

When a card freeze may help

If card activity appears unfamiliar or a card has been exposed, a freeze control can be a useful immediate action where available. Review the activity, retain relevant details and follow the official support route for the situation.

What a spending limit means

A plan’s stated monthly limit describes the maximum spend outlined for that plan, while any available card control may be a separate setting. Neither one assures transaction approval or cancels a contract with a subscription merchant.

Use controls as part of a routine

  • Review card activity and balance regularly.
  • Set only controls you understand in the official account interface.
  • Cancel recurring services directly with the merchant when required.
  • Use official support if you suspect unauthorised activity.

Controls and their availability can vary. Read their descriptions in the live account before relying on them.
